Using this Gallery:

This site requires a frame-capable, javascript enabled browser. If you got this far you probably have this already.

We present each image with as little clutter or explanation as possible, so you can enjoy the image itself -- subject to the color and size limitations inherent in the web and your computer hardware.

The menu bar on the right shows the names of the images found in each gallery. Using those names, you can look up the dimensions and price of each image in the image data page. The rest of this page explains how to place orders.

How to Order:

Please place orders by mail or by phone. I check my email infrequently, so these other more archaic methods are more reliable. My address and telephone number are:

Robert Armstrong
79 Santa Fe Avenue
San Francisco, CA 94124
415.467.2210

Payment Method:

Please pay with a personal check or major credit card (VISA, M/C, American Express).

Shipping Fees:

Shipping fees will be either $20 or $25 for each total order, within the continental United States. The higher fee will be for larger framed pieces -- 21"x25" , or for more than two pieces shipped. Pieces larger than 21"x25" require a price quote from me. Most pieces will be shipped U.P.S.; very occasionally I use the U.S. Post Office or FedEx.

Tax:

California residents, please add 8.5% sales tax.

Framed versus Unframed:

Unless stated otherwise, all pieces will be shipped framed, in white washed wood frames, floated on museum matte board, and behind glass. Archival framing materials are used throughout.

An example of a framed piece, the "Lemon Wedge", is available for viewing in Gallery G or directly from here. This shows the frame, matte, and image in context.

If you want the piece unframed, please specify when ordering and $20 will be deducted from the cost. This is the cost of my frame and glass.

Mailing List:

I will include your name on my mailing list unless you request me to do otherwise.

Further Important Information:

Please note that the image you see on the site may not necessarily be identical to the piece you receive. The website features recent examples of my work. But I sell pieces often, and then print new ones of the same image. Each piece, as stated in the explanation about watercolor monotypes (found here), is unique and original. They will look similar, often very closely so, but the monotype technique, with the use of watercolor crayons and liberal amounts of water, ensures the element of change and variation. This is part of the fun and freedom of the process, and helps to keep it fresh for me as well as for my patrons. My confidence in my work is such that I offer a complete guarantee of satisfaction, for artwork is very personal, and you should truly enjoy any piece you acquire. If you are not happy with the piece, please communicate with me, arrange for its return, and I will refund the money you paid, less the shipping charges.

Thank you,
Bob Armstrong
